To push for cryptocurrency adoption, the Litecoin Foundations has secured a place as the Official Cryptocurrency Partner during the last UFC (Ultimate Fighting Challenge) match this year.
In a blog post, the Litecoin foundation said that they are:
“Excited to announce that Litecoin is the Official Cryptocurrency Partner of UFC: JONES VS. GUSTAFSSON 2. This epic event, which features the highly anticipated main event rematch between former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones against UFC light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson, will take place this Saturday, December 29 at the Forum in Inglewood, California.”
Being the official cryptocurrency partner, the Litecoin Foundation is bringing cryptocurrencies closer to the people which will ultimately drive the adoption of virtual currencies.
The foundation holds being a cryptocurrency partner with high respect because it forms the ‘first steps’ to what it views as a strong and ‘fruitful relationship with UFC.’
The Official Cryptocurrency Partner added that:
“With UFC events like this receiving millions of viewers, having the Litecoin logo displayed on the Octagon’s canvas gives LTC global awareness that can spark interest and drive engagement with people from all walks of life who may have never heard of Litecoin or cryptocurrency before.”
Litecoin becomes the first cryptocurrency partner in the Ultimate Fighting Challenge to date. This provides another major indicator that crypto and the technology that underpins it is making huge strides towards the mainstream arena.
Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin, has in 2018 been focusing on taking Litecoin to the masses and recently indicated that he will be concentrating on Litecoin adoption in the coming year. In 2018, football clubs were among those who either developed a crypto token or partnered with a crypto-affiliated firm.
