Decentralisation of networks
The company Quantstamp is a combinator backed blockchain security company, that has just released its new Quantstamp Security Network that goes by the name V2. This network will be available on the company’s website called protocol.quantstamp.com, the new features that it brings together with a decentralised design, will be using staking. These will improve security as well as providing better analysis. The code will be open sourced, while being able to store complete secure reports on the blockchain for improved transparency.
Staking will become a great feature that this update will be bringing. Anyone will be able to run a node on this Quantstamp Security Network and earn QSP’s which will be the provided tokens. That can be acquired through staking and participation. This will greatly increase the decentralisation of the network compared to the previous iteration of the node V1 type.
The Quantstamp V2 will also remove the AWS dependencies of the previous version. All nodes will be able to now interact with the Ethereum Blockchain directly or either through Ethereum owned nodes.
This will also include improved analysis on the Quantstamp Security Network V2 nodes. Which will now be able to integrate Mythil as well as other Smart contract analysers. These two analysers will allow the network to detect a wide range of common errors and vulnerabilities.
Integration with the blockchain
Individuals can find all secure scans that are stored directly on the blockchain, and will be publicly viewable by anyone. This will include those who did not run the scan on their own. Before the introduction of this network users had to trust that developers would take all the necessary measures when developing software. Users are now able to verify independently that the developments have been achieved and are in line with security standards.
Open source, is a big deal for this Network, as the code is now fully free for anyone to use. This will provide an increase in transparency. The community is now also allowed to contribute to the codebase in order to increase and improve functionalities.
Network statistics of this new Quantstamp network V2 will also bring features with redesigns in the UI. Along with live network statistics and graphical tutorials. And live stats on the nodes, including network events and scans visible on the network.
This UI is also redesigned to be easy enough for developers to implement. Users and developers a like can use Quantstamp Security Network V2 to check dApps on the blockchain. To see if the applications that are being used is free from vulnerabilities and can be used for smart contract scans.
