Pablo Escobar’s brother launches a new crypto coin that will fund Trump impeachment

PThe brother of the deceased drug lord Pablo Escobar has launched a new crypto coin that he says will fund the impeachment of the current president of the united states Donald Trump. The revelation was made on escobartrump.org website.

The decision was made by Roberto, Escobar’s elder brother after he was allegedly blocked from raising funds through the GoFundMe platform. The new token is dubbed the ESCOBAR and its an ERC-20 based stablecoin which according to the site is pegged to the USD.

An excerpt of the website reads:

“The token came to existence as a tool to raise money for the Impeach Trump Fund cause, where a GoFundMe fundraiser was shut down and censored. Thanks to cryptocurrencies, there are no boundaries to be censored!”

On Wednesday the project launched the pre-sale of 200 million tokens through an ICO which will run up to May 10. According to the project’s white paper, they hope to sell 1 billion ESCOBARS. After the ICO is over, the website claims that the new crypto coin will be redeemable for USD through a company that is based in Belize.

Speaking to The Next Web, Olof Gustafsson who is the CEO at Escobar Inc. said that they had initially planned to raise $50 million through the GoFundMe campaign which they had titled “ByeByeTrump.” However, after they got blocked on the platform, they decided to launch the new crypto coin.

Adding:

“After raising $10 million in just 10 hours, we were shut down by GoFundMe and within 24 hours launched the ESCOBAR stablecoin cryptocurrency to avoid anyone censoring us again. We believe the Trump Administration or President Trump shut us down.”

However, according to TNW publication, the GoFundMe claims are yet to be confirmed. But, they did publish a screenshot that was provided by Escobar Inc. that shows they had donated $10 million in campaign funds.
