Compared to Bitcoin, ethereum, and other blockchains, Cardano is very young but its age has not hindered it from making some huge strides in an almost saturated space. Cardano (ADA) was ranked ahead of bitcoin on the global public blockchain evaluation index where it occupied the 7th position while bitcoin occupied the 13th positions. Ethereum took the first position.
After the ranking, which was done before the mid of this month, the price of Cardano (ADA) saw a major boost as recorded by coinmarketcap.
The global index concentrated on twenty-eight virtual currencies and evaluated how applicable their blockchains were to real world usage..
But what is it that the evaluators saw in Cardano that was missing in bitcoin?
Well, so many factors could have led to their decision. Below are the two major qualities that saw Cardano beat bitcoin in blockchain ranking.
This is by far the major reason why Cardano (ADA) was ranked ahead of bitcoin on the global public Blockchain evaluation index. Bitcoin has been in existence for over a decade now while Cardano is hardly a year old and its already making big strides in offering solutions to real-world problems.
With its age, it has already shifted from its host, ethereum, and it’s now a standalone blockchain. Although other features like smart contracts are yet to be incorporated into Cardano, its real-world use cannot be questioned. When its blockchain becomes fully equipped, Cardano will be a force to align with.
At the start of this month, the government of Ethiopia signed a deal with Cardano. In the deal, the Ethiopian agricultural ministry would use Cardano in its operations. The project is expected to be running by the end of this year.
As Cardano makes more real-world use of its blockchain by entering into more partnerships, its overall adoption and growth cannot be inhibited. Cardano’s entry into the African continent seems as a strategic move as Africa has unexploited potential in blockchain use.
What other factors do you think led to Cardano being ranked ahead of bitcoin on the global public blockchain evaluation index?
