The court asks Jeff Garzik to support his claims that the late David Kleiman was Satoshi Nakamoto

Jeff Garzik, a software engineer believed to have helped in the creation of Bitcoin, has been invited to appear before the U.S District Court of the Southern District of Florida, to shed some light on his earlier claims that the late David Kleiman was Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin’s anonymous creator.

The court’s request is in regards to an ongoing case where the family of the David Kleiman accuses Craig Wright of stealing more than 1 million Bitcoins after Kleiman died.

The family alleges that after David passed away in 2013, Craig, who purports to be Satoshi Nakamoto, fraudulently sought to assist Kleiman’s family to get rid of the Bitcoins owned by David.

Although the Bitcoins were allegedly disposed of by Wright, the family did not benefit.

According to Cointelegraph:

Wright forged a series of contracts that purported to transfer Dave’s assets to Craig and or companies controlled by him. Craig backdated these contracts and forged Dave’s signature on them.

The court has since declared that David’s family has supported their claim and the charges brought against Wright will not be dropped.

Towards the end of last year, Garzik attracted the court’s attention he said that David Kleiman was Satoshi Nakamoto saying:

My personal theory is that it’s Floridian Dave Kleiman [is Satoshi Nakamoto]. It matches his coding style, this gentleman was self-taught. And the Bitcoin coder was someone who was very, very smart, but not a classically trained software engineer.

Apart from shedding some light on his theory that David Kleiman was Satoshi Nakamoto, Jeff will also furnish the court with any information regarding the interaction between Craig Wright and David Kleiman. Jeff is also required by the court to state his knowledge of Bitcoin mining activities for the period spanning from early 2009 to mid-2013.

Since Jeff is claimed to be one of the Bitcoin creators, do you think his theory that David Kleiman was Satoshi Nakamoto has a basis?
