The event in hands of the Ripple team
One of the most relevant topics for the audience that was at Ripple Swell was Bill Clinton’s remarks about the “disparity of access” to technologies like Blockchain as they develop to become more relevant in our society. He thinks there is also a parallel between the growing e-commerce of the 1990s and this technology regarding money.
Clinton later added that:
“The more you develop new technologies like blockchain … AI technolgies, robotic technologies … the more the disparity of access is going to be felt.”
There is also the possibility that new technologies like this can be abused, pointing out that cryptocurrencies can be used by terrorists and other criminals including money laundering issues. Clinton thinks that there needs to be an intelligent effort in order to identify the downsides of the technology and that old regulations cannot be applied to the new technology.
He said: “You will end up killing the goose that laid the golden egg”
The former president thinks that the Blockchain technology has the potential to change the world because it can be applied across all national borders and economical revenue groups.
He Further stated that:
“The permutations and possibilities are staggeringly great, But we could ruin it all by negative identity politics and economic together with social policies.”
